Anaerobic fermentation technology plays an important role in the resource utilization of biomass waste, among which CSTR process has been widely applied.

In recent years, large-scale anaerobic digestion biogas projects in China have developed rapidly. By the end of 2016, the country had established 51 extra-large biogas projects and approximately 18,000 medium and large-scale biogas projects. Common types of anaerobic digestion include HCF, USR, UASB, and CSTR. Among them, CSTR is widely used in large-scale anaerobic digestion biogas projects due to its broad adaptability to raw materials, strong resistance to load shocks, and high volumetric gas production rate.

This CSTR biogas project annually processes 1,750 tons of various crop straw, 1,750 tons of dry chicken manure, and 700 tons of pig manure slurry. The designed capacity is to produce 2,100 cubic meters of biogas per day, which will be used for thermal purification to produce biomethane. The project's products and annual output include 349,800 cubic meters of biomethane, 1,365 tons of solid biogas fertilizer, and 1,855 tons of liquid biogas fertilizer.
