Utilization Statusand Prospect of Anaerobic Digestion Residueof Food Waste

A large amount of food waste is generated every day in China. Anaerobic digestion technology is the main way tosolve the problem of food waste at present. Through the metabolism of anaerobic microorganisms, organic matter is decomposed into methane, and digestive residues (biogas residue and biogas slurry) are produced at the same time, but a largnumber of nutrient elements are still preserved in it. In this paper, the utilization status of anaerobic digestion of food wasteand the characteristics of anaerobic digestion residues of food waste are investigated, and the utilization stalus of anaerobicdigestion residues of food waste is analyzed, so as to provide a reasonable research way for the resource utilization of anaerobic digestion residues of food waste.

With the improvement of domestic consumption levels in China, the production of kitchen waste is gradually increasing. According to data from Lingdong Core, the annual production of kitchen waste in China reached approximately 116 million tons in 2020 and is expected to exceed 130 million tons in 2021. From 2022 to 2026, the compound annual growth rate of kitchen waste in China will maintain a growth increment of 12% to 15%. Kitchen waste is complex in composition, rich in nutrients, and if not handled promptly, it can easily rot and decay, emitting strong odors, spreading bacteria and viruses, and causing significant environmental impact.

Through investigation and analysis of the physicochemical properties of anaerobic digestion residues of kitchen waste in China, the author believes that anaerobic digestion technology is currently the mainstream technology for treating kitchen waste. Combining with the main development trends of society today, exploring more rational pathways for the resource utilization of kitchen waste digestion residues can improve the economic benefits of kitchen waste treatment and provide support for the utilization of anaerobic digestion residues of kitchen waste.
